NEW MUSIC SCOTLAND – Conference and Showcase

“New Music: is anybody listening?”

“New Music: is anybody listening?”

New Music Scotland  is a network that brings together performers, composers, promoters of new music in Scotland, to:

* Create a context for dialogues between practitioners and new work;

* Share ideas of best practice;

* Promote the diversity of new music and sound art;

* Create and maintain a supportive environment for innovation

The Conference/Showcase is aimed at all performers, creators and promoters of music in Scotland, the UK and beyond that have an interest in new music. The event will give delegates the opportunity to discuss topics relevant to the promotion of new music and will showcase the best music and sound art that Scotland has to offer, selected via a competitive submission process.

The keynote speech will be given by Jonathan Cross, Professor of Musicology at the University of Oxford.
