NOISY NIGHTS CALL FOR SCORES ANNOUNCED FOR MARCH 3RD!

Dear Everyone (especially the composers amongst you!)

We have a slightly unusual line-up for our next Noisy Night at the Traverse Theatre on Monday March 3rd. We’ve acquired a fancy new synthesiser, and we thought we’d like to to give you all the chance to write for it.
The Call for Scores on our website (https://www.rednoteensemble.com/Calls_for_Scores.html) reads as follows:
“>>> Submissions are welcome for scores written for an ensemble of 2 ‘cellos and synthesiser for our Noisy Night on 3rd March 2014 in the Traverse Theatre bar, Edinburgh. Deadline for submissions: 5pm on Friday 21st February 2014. The synthesiser in question is Red Note’s very own Kurzweil PC3K8. Simon Smith, who will be playing it, requests that anyone who wants to write for it get in touch with him (via Red Note’s Artistic Co-Director John Harris at john@rednoteensemble.com) to ask how best to notate the results they want.

CONDITIONS FOR ALL NOISY NIGHTS SUBMISSIONS: no work is to be longer than 5 minutes. All scores and parts (in pdf format) to be sent with the submission. Tape parts (in mp3 format) will be accepted in addition to instrumental parts.

All submissions must be sent to john@rednoteensemble.com. Submissions received after the deadline will not be considered.”

So, do please turn your hand to it! As the Call for Scores says, if you’d like any help on describing the sounds you’d like our, admittedly fancy, new beast to produce under Simon’s control, please don’t hesitate to ask …

Warmest wishes to you all,

John Harris
